The rate of obesity is highest in the South (29.5%), followed by the Midwest (29.0%), Northeast (25.3%), West (24.3%).
States with the highest rates of obesity (over 30 percent):
- Mississippi, Louisiana, West Virginia, Alabama, Michigan, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Indiana, South Carolina, Kentucky, Texas, Missouri.
States with the lowest rates of obesity (plus D.C.)
